Hello All,

Sorry for not posting on here yesterday, so I'm going to combine yesterday's news with today. So yesterday I had a pounding headache. I don't understand why because I've been sticking to the diet and drinking a lot of Water. Is there any explanation for this? Maybe caffine withdrawal? Anyhow, I got home and immediately fell into a slumber for majority of the night. Needless to say I felt better when I woke up, but today I'm tired as all cna be as if I didn't get any sleep. Any wonder why? My blood sugars are getting better and better with each day that is going on.

Also, I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow adn did you know that if you pay your deductible at the pre-op you could qualify for a discount? I didn't know that until the lady told me that if I paid my portion at the appointment I got a 25% discount. As Charle Sheen would say, "Winning"! LOL!

Now to day 6. I'm at work and I am dragging, hungry, and filled with regret and defeat. The fact that it's lunch time and all my co-workers are talking about where they are going for lunch doesn't help at all. But my wife called the doctor this morning and he was happy to hear that I have lost a total of 20 pounds since last friday. I've laid off the broth for a few days because it was starting to get boring and bland to me. Well I hate to leave on short notice, but I'm not getting paid to blog all day, which wouldn't be a bad thing. Until next time! Take care, and don't give up or give in! And as always thank you all who have responded to my posts.

V/r,

DeShawn

I was banded 6/5/12 and i remember the preop diet as if it were yesterday. It's tough, but once you make it through you'll look back and think "that wasn't that bad". You're going to get headaches and you're going to feel tired and sluggish. Sometimes I think the only thing that kept me going was the Protein Shakes, I could have as many of those as I wanted but most days even drinking two was a struggle. On the go I would grab a muscle milk Protein Drink from a gas station (they tastes pretty good). Good luck to you, seems as if you're in the right frame of mind! Best wishes

The first three or four days of my pre-op diet, I swear I felt high. People would be talking to me and I literally could not comprehend what they were saying. I think that was due to cutting out all of my carbs and sugars. After a lifetime of eating whatever I wanted, my body was being denied things that it considered it needed. After that first week, I still have cravings but I don't feel as out of it as I was.

I am in the home stretch. My surgery is in 2 days. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!

Ketosis can give you headaches as well as caffeine withdrawl. I didn't have to give up caffeine. I too have had a dull headache. I miss thinking about what to eat for lunch and dinner. I'm on day 6. You can do it. Just think of the results!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
