How Much Protein?

Recommended Posts

Can I just get an estimate of how much Protein everyone is getting during a day? I know I am low most days, but I need to know how much I should be getting.

Thanks!

My nutritionist says about 60 grams per day for females. She said much more than that isn't really beneficial. I have been trying to stay right around that, or a little more. I'm starting my second and last week of my pre-op diet tomorrow.

im not sure how much im getting but i dont think i could eat more than i am right now. i have pure Protein for Breakfast.. then mixed with carbs for lunch and tea. i had some bloods done a few days ago and will see the dr next week to talk about my Iron levels, etc etc. im sure you will get a good idea from the forum... there are a lot here who do measure the amount they eat.

60 grams for women and I do the Protein Shots first thing in the AM 43 grams . IF you eat and always eat your Protein first you should get enough and feel fuller.

I was told at least 60 grams as well, and was told not to have more than 30g at a time because the body can't process more than 30 at once.

My daily Protein goal range was calculated by the dietitian...for me it is 65-82 grams per day.

Reaching it is not difficult if you have a nutritionally sound Protein shake every day...like NC Girl. When I mix my Protein powder with 1% milk, my shake will have 37 g of protein...more than enough to compensate for any deficits during the day!

There is a Almond milk with Protein available. I get the unsweetened vanilla. 30 calories and 5 grams of Protein a cup.

When I'm home in the morning I put 2 cups

In a blender, a banana, 1/2 cup blueberry and a a 1/2 cup Greek yogurt hand Full of ice and that's a great smoothie.

Got about 40 grams of protein and all the Vitamin benefits of the fruits.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
