I'm with ya sister! I was banded on the 27th of Sept. I am having burning at my port sight by the end of the day. :(

I went today for my first post-op appt. and first fill. I also had the burning around the port (I was also banded 9/27) I asked my surgeon about it and he said it was probably just the muscles healing as he sewed the port into the muscles. He said ice might help. I got a 1.5 cc fill today. He said the first fill would hurt the most. It wasn't awful, but I am happy to hear that one will be the most painful! I am down 21.5 pounds and cleared to work out again! I have missed my Pilates so much! Hope everyone else is doing well!

You and I sound like we are the same. Although my fill was 3cc's. my Dr said the same thing about the burning pain. He also said I could take some Ibprophen. I'm down 23.2. Doesn't it feel fantastic!?!?!

Congratulations to everyone !

I had my first fill today here in London - he put in 2cc and cleared me to eat what I want straight away, I took the safe option and just had a blended thick Soup - noticed a bit more restriction- got appointment with dietician early December so will be able to book anouther fill then if I feel I need it.

Lost 32lbs and am very happy - I go gym 5 times a week and have got back into my 38inch waist Levi's - happy days!

My surgeon did the fill today without any X-ray or anaesthetic - he just went for it, there was no pain thank god. He was pleased with the port position and said I was his first patient where he put the port more centrally and he was very happy it had healed.

Let's keep up the good work

Just a thought for those of you who are having nausea and vomiting. 1st. Take your Vitamins before bed with a bite or two of food. Also you may need stool softners. You may not feel constipated but if you are at all it can make you feel nauseous. As for the shakes, I buy the whey Protein Powder from Walmart, it has 52g of Protein so you only need 1 small shake along with your other high protein foods. Maybe tums or prilosec would help if you have acid problems. Hope that helps some. I have been blessed with no problems after a 4cc fill.

My nausea and Constipation has gotten much better. It took me about 5-6 weeks to feel normal again. I would get nauseated and take a zofran. The zofran was causing the constipation. It was terrible. I dont have the nausea anymore and I take 2 stool softners, myralax and a rx for ibs constipation. I feel like an old lady w all my meds. Lol. For the 1st couple of weeks I thought I was never gonna get better.

Wish me luck, I go for my second fill tomorrow.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
