well, i beg to differ cassie as i didnt cheat on my 2 week pre or 2 week post op liquid diets.

it doesnt make me better or stronger, it was just something i did..the reason i did not cheat was the few

stories my dr told me about people cheating on their diets and them not doing the surgery..i did not

want that to happen to me...

abrin, i am sure you are fine, just try to hang in there with your dr's instructions. just alittle while longer

and you can eat again :)

I understand the confusion. My doctor is saying one thing and my nutritionist is saying another. But I had two reeses cup yesterday and a little piece of chocolate cake today. I'm tired of people saying well your not ready for the life style change. I've been on a diet for six months and now I feel like i'm stress eating. I am pretty sure nobody actually went through the whole pre-op with out cheating just once! I think you should be ok with the cheese. Sounds like my dinner tonight.

I completely understand. It's like they don't understand us! Of COURSE I'm ready to change, but WITH THE BAND and RESTRICTION changing will be feasible whereas now it feels like an impossibly high mountain to climb.

I'm ready to workout, watch what i eat, and put in WORK, but on the pre-op diet i feel like i'm alone. With the band I'm sure I will have more confidence (restriction)

You'll be fine. Some doctors, like mine, allow a low cal dinner of veggies and a lean Protein. Just do your best to get back your liquid. Eating fat is what contributes to a fatty liver. Hang in there!!

I know what you mean. I have been on so many diets and have stuck to him completely and have had no problems. I was even completely faithful through my 6 month nutritional vists. But now i feel alone just like you. I mean everybody is eating around me. My family is eating around me. But its the same food you can have after the diet. Its not like im not working out and drinking plenty of Water.. this mountain does suck and we will get over it just keep your head up. We will do just fine. Dont let anybody bring you down. But my doctor did tell me as well that if my liver is fatty he doesnt do the surgery.. But i work with mine everyday and he has never turned anyone down.

I am sorry if i offended anyone about that comment. I should have said I have never met anyone that has not cheated on their pre-op diet. Doesnt mean that people arent out there.. and you are stronger than me cause i couldnt do it!

I didn't cheat on my Pre surgery diet either. My Surgeon and nutritionist insist on a dinner of a lean Protein and vegtables or a frozen diet meal under 300 calorie for dinner and liquids the rest of the day. My surgery was text book and my liver was beautiful. I read some of these posts and I don't see the purpose of making someone feel horrible for making a mistake. I come from a place of pick yourself up and get right back on the correct diet. Being fat we have all been torn down our whole lives, so why not be supportive and encouraging. This is going to be a long slow process with mistakes. I say kudos to all of us for making the decision to have the surgery and make ourselves healthier!! :)

That makes me feel better that i didnt offend you. But i have to agree with khult. This is my only "place" to go and talk about the lap band and how i feel thats why somethings i say do come out the wrong way. I mean i cant just sit down and tell me husband because he will look at me like im crazy! But i am glad i can "speak my mind" and be proven wrong. But i give you koudos because of how much weight you have lost you are doing great!

Doctors scare people with tales of complications. I do agree the post op diet shrinks the liver by throwing the body into ketosis. But if it was really a concern for liver size I would think they would reject people over xxxxx weight. As you get larger so does the liver. I didn't stray from diet but cant blame one who did. All liquid is terrible torture.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
