Gained All Weight Back

Recommended Posts

It happy at all. 5 years out and I gained my weight back. I'm at capacity on my band even a little over. How are you all doing? Any suggestions? My doctor even seemed surprised that I haven't had any complications and surprised I can drink Water do fast at the new fill.

Sorry I can't make any suggestions, just newly banded myself. But if you don't mind me asking, are you not eating per the plan? Are you eating over the 1 cup portions 5-6 times a day?

Yes I would want to know has your pouched stretched out and did you not get a fill when you were suppose to get it and that might be why you gained the weight?

Hi Ravenesquedv-

I'm 4.5 yrs out so I really empathize --- however---I think we need more info to help you think about this. For example, I'm wondering if you had a high BMI vs a low BMI when you started. And I'm really wondering if you lost all of or most of your excess weight before gaining it back. If you lost a lot --- how long did you keep it off before gaining? I ask because -- there could be a bunch of different things that are causing the problem and it's hard to make suggestions if we don't know more about your situation.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
