Help! My Co-Works Are Trying To Talk Me Out Of It.

Recommended Posts

I know i shouldnt have said anything and i was kinda wishing i would get more support. I mean the girls i work with are like family we do alot together outside of work, so i just thought i would get more support. But whats funny was at work last night they started asking me questions and wanting to know all about it. I think they may have realized how much this ment to me.

I havent seen under 200 either so your not alone. And it sucks but we are one the right path and soon we will!

I just wrote this another thread and thought it worth sharing here too...

I just started seeing someone, and I really like this girl, and told her I'm getting banded in a few weeks (8/23!!!!). She is trying to talk me out of it saying I look great, just diet, just excercise, we'll start biking together.... Blah blah blah! I've been doing that for 20 years and am still in the same, or even worse, place! I finally told her: "I'm doing this, I've wanted this for 5 years, I've researched this and talked to many bandsters, I've been under surgeons care and going through process officially for 6 months.... So Either support me or BACK THE &$/! OFF!!!"

I was much more charming and diplomatic than that ;)

And she got it and now she's awesome about it!

Totally supportive.

Only you make this decision. Only you have been there with yourself for whatever many years with however many ups and downs. No one can tell you otherwise.

Good luck to all!

Jason

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
