No Fill At 2Months Post Op

Recommended Posts

Tried getting a fill at 1 month post op but dr was not able to locate port and extremely painful. Went back yesterday and a diff doctor said I don't need one yet. That avg weightloss should be 10 lbs and that I've already lost 8lbs in 3 weeks. Ugh!!! Part of me really wants one. I feel like I'm losing very slow. I'm apparently impatient :/

I understand the frustration I was banded May 23 and have only lost 35 lbs and my doctor has yet to give me a fill keep in mind I lost the first 25 in the first month I am very impatient as well. Its getting harder and harder for me not to over eat. I am hoping my doctor will give me a fill soon cause if I let my self I'm sure I could eat a house. Ive gone from 217 to 182 and I thought I'd be atleast 170 by now. I guess I guess I am a slow loser. I know I should excersize on a regular basis but I usally only get in about once a week but it's still very hard on my lungs and joints but I guess I am just going to need to start but it would make it alot easier if I had restriction cause I tend to over eat when I excersize since I have no restriction.

Jessi...I don't understand...you were banded May 23 and you've "only" lost 35 pounds...in two months most people would give their left kidney for that toe of weight loss.

i think you need to change your thinking to how well you have done and loss instead of what you havent and being impatient.

you sure didnt get gain all your weight overnight. you are not gonna lose it all that quickly. you need to chill and do exactly what it is you are doing. it seems to be working.

so whats the problem??

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
