How Much Is In Your Band...does It Really Matter?

Recommended Posts

Ok I know i'm gonna get some slack for this but it's just a pet peeve of my own...people are always asking how much is in their band and it's totally irrelevant to anyone but that person...2cc's in my band doesn't mean 2cc's in someone else band means the same thing or yields the same results...I think people get so obsessed with how many cc's they have compared to other people they loose site of the real picture...ok now back to our regularly scheduled program...lol!(bring on the slack...lol) hope I didn't offend anyone.

7.66 cc's I am able to comfortably eat ALL foods. I get satisfied very quickly and NEVER experience physical hunger.

I have 5.6 ccs and rarely get stuck or have any issue swallowing food of any kind. My satiety lasts for about 4-6 hours on one cup of food (so long as its heavy in protein).

4.8cc and I feel I am at good restriction. I can eat anything (bread is time consuming, so no likey) and stay satiated for 4+ hours. Most of the time any hunger problems are in my head and are not physical.

I think people grasp at straws and want to be filled, filled, filled because they think it will be like a magical switch that suddenly makes you not hungry. Unfortunately, I have only seen a very few people in my time here that have actually lost desire for food- everyone else analyzes what they eat and make the right choices.

I have one fill 3.5 cc's in my 14 cc band.after loosing 46 pounds .i resfused my 2nd and 3rd fill cuz i felt like i didnt need it.I'm just now starting to be hungry sooner probably because ive lost sone fat around the band area. so I may get a small fill on my next visit. The weightloss hasn't stopped I'm just getting hungry much sooner than before.

Totally agree, though it's nice to get a generalized idea.

But let alone between different people, you'll probably feel differently about 4cc(or whatever you're at) at different weights.

At 250 = Sweet spot.

At 150 = I can go crazy at the buffet. Haha.

Thanks everyone..u guys just proved my point of how pointless it is to discuss how much is in your band compared to others...different amounts is so different for everyone...I just wanted to let the newbies know to not get obsessed with that number...Lola

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
