I'm having surgery on August 22. I have been told my a few people that have had the surgery that it does not work and they r right because they lost no weight...:( Should I be nervous?

It's normal to be nervous. Have Faith in God and you'll be just fine! Good luck!

It doesn't work if you don't do the work some people want a quick fix or a magic wand to wave and they are thin but its work no work no results go out to eatwith your unsuccessful friends don't let on just have nice relaxed dinner and take notice to what they eat & how much & you will have your answer as to why they are unsuccessful

I was very nervous when I went into surgery but it was more about just having a surgery....Those people that have the band and it didn't work its because they wanted a quick fix or probably thought that it would work over night! The band is a TOOL not a Cure! You have to follow the guidelines and be ready to work toward your weightloss!!! Remember that the surgery is to help with the eating part you have to do the work to get the weight off! Best of luck!

IT does work! If your surgeon has given you all the info about what will be expected of you, and you feel you CAN follow the guidelines, IT will work!! Good Luck!

It works as hard as u do. And the loss is slow. But u need this time to adapt to a brand new way of eating. Your stomach will be shaped smaller which forbids u to eat more than a cup of food 1-3 times a day. Think about it real good. It's NOT easy at all. But worth it.

I understand. I'm Nervous as well or maybe I am more scared. Im tired of failing when it comes to weight loss. I really want to succeed in this area of my life. Whats scary is seeing people who had surgery and not losing anything at all. I have one more month 2 go before my surgery will be schedule and I am already debating will it all be worth it in the end.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
