Its awesome that you are getting this done at 19. I tried to have it done at that age and I was around 400lbs at the time but my insurance wouldn't do it. I am now 24 and just got banded 6 days ago and I am super excited for what I will be able to do in the future things like you want to do such as ride a roller coaster without worrying. And I am also going through this process with my mom' date=' she will be banded next month. Good luck to you![/quote']

Hi did you get lap band done in Beverly Hills,Ca

Hiii! At my heaviest last summer I was 335, I

With my *** insurance I had to do a monitored weightloss program with a weekly weigh in with a nutrionist, after that 6 mos program I had to wait for a lot of aurhorizations. Lab work, endoscopy, esophageal manometry test. It took me over a year to get surgery.. June 8th 2012 surgery weight 304 current weight 274! So worth it. Good luck on your journey :)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
