What do you freeze your meals in??

Recommended Posts

:hungry: I am single with 2 children and when I make a meal I usually try to have leftovers. Before I left them in the fridge because I just ate on them until they were gone. Now that I am banded I know meals will last a lot longer (and I want to cook some ahead to have easy choices accessible!). Do you freeze yours in freezer bags? Or those plastic containers? I want to freeze them in a serving size, so was thinking those 1 cup Ziploc or Glad containers. Has anyone used those to freeze in portions? I want it to be easy to go from freezer to micro if possible.

Thanks! :)

Kell

I use the glad or ziploc containers. When I make stew or Soup I measure out about 3/4 of a cup. I take them to work frozen in the morning and they are mushy by lunch. I also use them for leftovers and they work fine.

For my craisins, pumpkin seeds, etc, I measure 1/4 cups and put them in the ziploc snack bags.

I've got lots of pyrex containers with plastic lids. I'm sure you guys have pyrex over there right? It probably came from there, lol. Anyway you can get round ones, square ones, big ones and small ones and they're fantastic because you've got the lid but its a glass dish so can go straight to oven, microwave and onto the table. They cost a bit more than cheap plastic containers but they're fabuluous. We have little single serve square and round ones and I might make a lasagne or casserole and freeze singly and Doug just takes them to work. And I've got big ones for entire family meals.

I love, love, love the Glad plastic containers! I bought the 7/8 Cup and 1/2 Cup ones and they are the perfect sizes. I eat out of the 7/8 Cup ones and use the 1/2 Cup ones to measure my food with! LOL No more having to wash that 1/2 C measuring cup every meal. They are so cheap that I just add to the collection or replace them as needed.

Penni60  I guess I didn't realize how the title sounded! :loco: LOL!

Thanks...I love those Glad containers too and have been using the 1/2 cup ones all the time (and great for kids too!).

Thanks for answering!

We really like our FoodSaver vacuum sucker thing - really helps keep food longer in the freezer, and since there are only two of us, it's a real help.

Ugh, I have a food sucker thing. I wrestled that damn food sucker thing for months. Now it is sitting in the cabinet and untouched for 2 years now. Goes in the garage sale next week. Maybe ebay. It just doesn't suck and seal right. Damn thing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
