I went to see the physician's assistant today. She thinks I have a dilation of the pouch. I go from being hungry all the time and not really watching my portions. To other days when I eat a couple of bites and throw it back up. I am now on lliquids for the next 7 days then soft foods for another 7 days. Then a normal diet again. She also took liquid out of the band. I hope this will jump start my weight loss again. I haven't lost anything in 4 months. I am very discouraged. Has anyone else had this happen? Did the liquid/soft foods help with the dilation? I go back in 3 weeks and they will do xray with barium. They didn't have an xray today so I wasn't able to have this done.

Yes, I have slight pouch dilation and I do really notice that I can eat things - like a sandwich - that I would never have DREAMED of eating a year or two ago! I have not gained weight though, as in reality I've been at goal for years now and eating a sandwich for lunch - just one sandwich - is hardly a fast track to obesity.

I still have the headhunger demons, the urge to reach for a biscuit just coz its on a plate in front of me, or share the chips because they're there. I thing mmmmm a glass of wine might be good at 5pm. I have to still manage all those behaviours, like anyone does, so to be honest, a little extra capacity is not that big of a deal to me.

I stress, I still cant eat anything like what a normal person eats!

My doctor is happy to just watch as long as its not symptomatic - but I have had heartburn. I had a small unfill which has improved that. But I am thinking about a complete empty and soft diet to fix this. I would like to have my band working like it used to.

With taking out some of the liquid they can then slowly add Fluid back. She is hoping that I will have restriction again. i have seem to be in the yellow or red zone since my surgery. I'm not sure what other centers use. Yellow is hungry and not watching portions. Red is trouble keeping food down. I rarely have been in the green zone which is eating small portions and feeling satisfied.

im sorry that you are having issues with the pouch ..... i was talking with a lady in the drs waiting room the other day. she was banded just over ten years ago and is now suffering from a slipped band. I asked her what her symptoms were... she said awful heartburn and couldnt keep anything down. She was hoping to get the band removed and replaced. it sounded like she was really miserable ... im glad i had a chance to ask her about it all. im keeping what she said in mind. ive read on here that going back to just fluids for a while, after having the saline taken out of the band can often help the band to slip back into position. i hope this is all it takes for you.

When talking about the slippage syptoms and "not being able to keep anything down"...does that mean it goes down okay but won't stay...one has to actually vomit...or does it mean one is always getting stuck and has to PB every time he/she eats?

When I talked about not being able to keep foods down I eat and then in a short period of time I throw up. I'm not familar with PB what does that mean?

"productive burp"....burping up stuck food rather than vomiting.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
