Hi There,,

I said this to another poster a day or two ago and it might be something to think about.

If you're doing only 800 calories a day there is probably a good chance that's your cause of the slow weight loss. If you're putting your body into starvation mode it goes on the defensive and tries to fight back. The main way it does this is to protect its fat stores. What ends up happening is the body will use lean tissue or muscle to provide it with some of the calories it needs to keep functioning. This directly leads to a loss of muscle, which in turn lowers your metabolism so that the body needs fewer calories to keep going and and then the weight loss slows down....

Are you currently tracking your food intake? I definitely recommend it. Myfitnesspal is a great and easy to use tool.

Best of luck!!

-Follow up with your surgeon monthly, getting fills monthly until you have good restriction.

-Log your food eaten so you can hold yourself accountable. I use an app called Lose It

-Be sure to get at least 60g-80g of Protein a day

-Go see a nutrionist. Bring your food log with you so they can see what you're eating and help you find a plan that works for you.

You may even want to go to a seminar that is for people considering Lap-Band, because they will tell you a lot of information you missed there.

100 pounds in 6 months is a lofty goal. I lost 70 in 6 months and that time just flew by.

Like the other poster wrote 800 calories isn't enough to maintain. 1,000-1,200 is realistic. You need to eat the good foods to provide energy for exercise.

A good neutrino plan with a work out plan and everything will fall into place.

100 pounds in 6 months seems high for a goal. I have lost 80 in 10 moths with 1000 to 1200 calories a day. I work out 3 to 4 days a week. Its been hard I still work on head hunger daily. One of my friends had lap band surgery and it took 3 years to hit goal it can be a slow process for some people.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
