How are you feeling now? I hope everything went smoothly for you. Thinking about ya.

I'm doing great how are you? I'm sore at the port site and I still have some gas pains. I try to walk around but i have to walk slowly because the gas pains kind of make me winded but short of breath. I'm not hungry at all so I try to get in my Protein and drink as much Water as I can to stay hydrated. I hope I never get hungry so I don't have to experience banster hell lol. What's your experience like so far?

Surgery date is July 19th. Lot's of different feelings. Fear and excitement. Not looking forward to the liquid diet although only 3 days for me. Definitely up and down with the emotions.

I am July 19 as well! THREE MORE DAYS!!

Hey, that is great. I hope we do extremely well. I am planning on it.

Not too keen on this liquid diet How are you doing with it? Mine is just 3 days. I can't believe some have to do 2 weeks. That would be really hard.

Haven't lost any more weight as of to day. I have to get on the scale at the surgeons office this thursday evening. Hoping to lose at last 3 lbs before then. While I am not on a liquid 2 week diet instead a low fat, low calorie 1200 a day diet. I am going to do liquids and 1 salad for dinner till then and see if this helps. As long as I don't gain any weight I am good, that is the reason I have to go in and get weighed to make sure no weight was put on or they will say NO NO to surgery and we don't want that happening, LOL.

However with saying that, I am enjoying my 'clear' Protein Drinks "Protein Blitz" grape and fruit punch! its the only Protein I can get down without feeling sick. I can't do the chaulky powder shakes..

Best of luck to all the July bandsters!

-Patty

Your surgeon should have given you a diet to follow. I have been sipping on chicken broth and eating sugar free Jello. I got some clear Protein drinks from dietdirect.com but it takes several days to get it. GNC has some sugar free protein drinks that are clear. Sugar free Popsicles work too.

Good luck...

Rita

I am on 2 weeks of 2 Protein Shakes + one meal of lean protein/green veggies. I can also have a cup of fruit.< /p>

For whoever was asking about making the shakes better:

vanilla Protein

a few chunks of pineapple (I buy fresh and freeze)

a few pitted cherries (I buy fresh and freeze)

SF vanilla pudding (dietician suggested it)

Water

Ice

A teeny sprinkle of coconut

And you have yourself a virgin pina colada. It is really tasty.

I do something similar but with chocolate powder and pudding, blueberries and cherries.

I will be able to get more creative once I am on liquids post surgery. I love adding a little Peanut Butter, bananas and cocoa powder. I also add a few handfuls of spinach. It blends in and you can't taste it. You just have do get past the hideous color it turns with the chocolate.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
