Out Of Network W/ True Results Houston

Recommended Posts

I have BCBS Anthem and have been told that they are out of network. They told me that True Reaults have an agreement with the insurance company and since the sugery is going to be in an outpatient facility it wouldn't be very expensive. They quoted me 1350, has anyone been told this before and did you receive bills after the fact?

No have not been told that before but yes i have been getting bills from all over the place. This surgery actually cost more than what i was told. I have received bills for physician again paid $276 before surgery got a bill now owe almost $400 more. Anesthesia $414, Radiology to check band placement $28.40 hospital stay total $ 200 paid, and $700 to true results, sleep study $113, pcp stress test $600 and thats so far and I have UHC. I am losing weight just wish i was honestly told what this would have cost upfront. Goodluck.

I am going to True Results Houston as well. The Patient Advocate said I was looking at like $3,000 out of pocket based on my ins Fed BCBS.

Thanks for the feedback. I am certainly going to ask, hopefully there up front about everything.

I would either get everything in writing about your cost being reduced even though they are out of network. I remember reading a post awhile back where this girl went out of network and insurance mailed her a check for $3000 and the total bill was over 70k. Needless to say, it could be a very expensive mistake if you don't find out particulars.

I also have anthem bcbs and my max out of pocket does not exist for out of network providers. I would be hesitant to go forward just knowing that.

I am also going through True Results Houston (was banded 4/26 by Dr. Rielly) and I have just recieved the notificiation from my insurance company. They are "paying" for the surgery to repair the hiatial hernia so that left me the cost of the actual band. I am not for certain how much they are going to bill me for Dr. Reilly's services. :) Good luck to you

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
