HI!! I had a fill on May 1st and seemed as tho all was going well.... Then on May 11th I slept in front of the AC and developed a sore throat...from that point on I have had a few issues with food...I seem to be having trouble with major heartburn and I cant seem to eat much at all...I am by no means hungry which is good...but could the sore throat have caused swelling and the band to get too tight..?? I also seem to notice my scales are going up ...should i go back on liquids a few days?? call the dr and see if they can remove some fluid...before the fill i was eating larger meals and getting hungry...I a confused now..today i had a low blood sugar soooo i had a cup of OJ with my Protein Powder mixed in skim milk..i tried meatloaf for dinner and no luck there a cpl bites i couldnt do it i am now trying and i say TRYING to do a yogurt....any suggestions will be greatly appreciated....thansk so much ....would my band have tightened after 2 weeks of being ok??? i was thinking maybe liquids for a few days??? then gradually add reg stuff ???? thanks for any input......muffin

I think that you should call your doctor and let them know wats going on... also stay on liquids for a couple of days

I agree that liquids for a few days just may calm things down...but call them if you can't tolerate fluids.

I would call anyway, because a small unfill will help you get over it faster...that is the beauty of the band, it is adjustable and you can get your fill back!!!

Best wishes

i sometimes think i am overfilled. but the alternative is not so good. i'd rather feel this way then to have to rely on my self control to manage my intake.. a little tightness isn't that awful.. some food goes down better than others. later in the day is better than early morning. standing up helps food get unstuck...walking around a little.. i have 20 more pounds to lose.. I'm ok with being a little uncomfortable now and then... i figure its the price to pay to lose the weight.. so I'm just going to deal with it.

Yes, it can take up to two weeks for a fill to take affect. I do think having a cold could make the band feel tighter. I would stay on liquids or mushies for a day or two. If you then try solid Proteins and can't get them down you are too tight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
