I had my port replaced last year and it hurt way worse than my initial surgery. I used a bag of frozen peas. Lol. Seriously felt sooo good. I was on my pain meds for 3-4 days before I started feeling better. Hang in there!

Thanks go the advice. I did use ice packs to help with the swelling. Ibuprofen helped as well. I did have some leaking that started yesterday. Did that happen to anyone?

I never had any leaking from my incision. Did you mention the leaking to your surgeon? I would. An infection at the port incision can be a very bad thing. It can affect the whole band if not treated quickly.

I had my port revision a couple of weeks ago and i'm still a little sore. it totally hurt worse than the original surgery. i still have a little bit of Fluid under my skin, so i'm a little swolen in that area, and my skin is raised, but the doc says it's normal and will go down. I have been trying to wear my old "fat lady" underwear because anything that touches me is painful.

i have 2 more weeks until i'm supposed to get back to my normal activity level and pick up anything heavier than 10 pounds. make sure you are not doing anything or lifting too much weight. you don't want to put too much strain on that area until it heals properly. it could be one reason you are leaking. you need to tell your doctor if a lot of Fluid is coming out and tell him what color it is. if it is green or mucousy, then that could be a problem.

Yeah, the draining has slowed down in the past few days. The doctor said it would and it has. My swelling has gone down quite a bit. The surgery was at least as painful as the original lab band surgery, but not more painful. I was embarrassed earlier in the week due to leaking through my clothing...oh well

I'm so scared I have pain at my port site I was banded 9 may. My port is very popped out and I can feel it with every move. It's warm to the touch and the area is very sore. Called dr the response was we will text the dr and maybe he will call back. Never got a call back. Don't want to go to Er because I was self pay and I know my insurance won't pay for visit.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
