Since I was self pay I felt like a head of cattle. Just take my money and move me along.....

Well I am a day and a half post op and my entire torso hurts with more pain in my shoulders. What causes your shoulder to hurt? My stomach is bloated and it hurts when I go from standing to sitting or vise versa But it's not intolerable. I like seeing all of you say it will get better! Thank you all!

The shoulder pain is from the gas...i know it sounds crazy, but thats what its from. The gas of course being from all the Co2 they fill ya up with during surgery to make room for them to manuver around. I read on here some people said it lasted 2 weeks...and I cried when i read it..mine was bad for about 5 days, and more bareable from days 6-8..then it was gone. Get up and walk. I live in a two bedroom apartment, about every 20-30 mins i would get up and go down our small hallway and back twice...and sit back down...it definitely helped.

It was the same for me, shoulder pains, gas, not able to eat but it really does get better. I kept a hotpad on my shoulder and drank peppermint tea. I think about the end of week 2 I notice considerable change for the better. I did get depressed the first two weeks as well since I wasn't eating, not sure what was going on but support from the nursing staff, forum and family helped. Just know it does get better. I am 5 weeks post op and feel great. Walking 5 miles a day and looking forward to my fill since I have no restriction most of the time. Just making sure I don;t put any more than 4 tblsp of food on my plate at one time, eating Protein first, veg and then carb. Drinking through the day and trying to get in 8 glasses. No regrets so far.

Oh thank you for saying all these things! I think I am feeling better today. Not as sore and I just sipped down a Protein Drink with no problems. I hope the next couple of weeks fly by!

The shoulder pain is gas. I was lucky and had none, but my doc said to take chewable gas-X if it happened. Walk, walk, walk. It moves the gas around and out. Pardon my frankness, but The first few months I was a farting machine, especially once I had some food. Sip the shakes slowly and I promise the depression will pass too. It is normal. Hang in there. BUT, if you really feel something is off physically or mentally, call the doctor. They are there for YOU.

I feel good! Yesterday I ate almost 50 grams of protein! I had a come to Jesus talk with myself and decided that the world won't end if I give up my vegan ways for a couple of months! So I decided to introduce Geek yogurt into my life and made my favorite tofu egg salad! Well 600 calories 50 grams of Protein and 30 oz of Water and Gatorade later and I feel brand new! Thanks for all the encouraging words.. I'm on the mend!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
