I am being banded June 4th but am a bit confused. In reading numerous posts, many of you have experienced significant weight loss during the first few months following your banding procedure...........however, other posts indicate it takes several months until fills are adequately adjusted for significant weight loss to occur. What has been your experience?

I was fortunate to have steady weight loss from the start although I find't achieve restriction until I had several fills. In those early months I was very careful about following my surgeon's rules re eating and exercise. J still follow them but they are easier now with restriction and I am still losing, albeit at a slower rate than early on.

I am going on week 7 post op on Monday. I was 221 day of surgery and today 204. I actually had two weeks where I even went up in weight but I kept exercising and following the drs orders. And Lossed. The band is a tool. It helps u.but u have to do the work. Like a hammer u have to have the nail and the hammer will help u drove it into the wall. Getting banded changed my life. For the better.

For me...when I started the weight loss eating...i lost steady every week for 6 months I had a weight loss......when I got banded I went on a 2 month not seeing the scale move....What I think about it all was in the begining I had soooo much to loose that it was just a lot easier ....now that my bodys adjusting to the 1200 cal days....the weight loss isnt as fast and that is ok...after my 2 months stand still the scale and I are friends again.....and I know with the help of the band...I will not put it all back on again....Good Luck and God Bless you

I had steady weight loss from the start. I didn't have any pre op diet to do, so all my weight loss is post op. I lost very steady and signifigantly and hit goal weight about nine months post op. I then lowered my goal weight and hit that about one year post op. I then lost a little more which was probably a bit too much for my body frame, I got down to 130 and my friends and family said I looked ill, so I've since then gained about 5 lbs and feel great. I've had a dozen fills and a couple unfills since one month post op and still am trying to find proper restriction. I have been fortunate that I have had pratically no hunger since being banded, so I never had bandster hell or any hunger issues. Good luck to you on your journey!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
