I was banded Tuesday morning. I just ate some Tomato bisque Soup (not much and pureed). Now I feel so tight. I don't think i ate it to quickly either. Anyone else eat Tomato Soup on day 4-5?

I haven't had soup but I've had tuna since day 2 and it's fine. I've had very little - an ounce or two. The trick is eating suuuuuper slow, even if you think you did, try slower - take breaks every bite, may be that'll help

Per my drs instructions, I was on Clear Liquids for two weeks, then full liquids, then mushies, etc. Try to get your Protein in so you can heal. Good luck!

I qas only instructed to be on clear liquids for 4 days. Although this was on the handout I was given. Unfortunately, I am not fond of my doctor. He hasn't really given me any what to expect or instructions. I feel like i am ny myself in this.

I was moved to full liquids at day 3. The Soup should go down fairly quickly, and you'll feel better. If not and you are in pain, give your surgeon a call. Just do a few ounces at a time--sip sip sip and let it go down between sips.

Feel better!

Possible you had too much or had it too fast. I did have tomato basil soup around day 4 or 5. I use baby spoons now. It helps me slow down.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
