Getting Rid Of The Junk!

Recommended Posts

I have packed up all the junk food in my house. It is going to a friend for her kids, what she doesn't want is going to my trainer (whether she wants it or not, I'm sure she'll be happy to take it off my hands!). I was caught up in buy one get one free items. Used it as an excuse to buy crap. Told myself I would just have a little, once in a while. Yeah right, 40 pounds later..... This is huge for me. I really feel like I am ready to get "back on the wagon". Actually that includes drinking too, I was having wine, which made me hungry and reduced my inhibitions. NO MORE!

My goal is too loose 15 pounds, Then I will see where I'm at. I have been by told I was to skinny 40 pounds ago. My other issue is I had a TT about 3 months after reaching goal. That was a mistake I think. I should have waited probably another 6 months at least. I am really worried that gaining and loosing the weight will affect the TT results. I am hoping if I only loose 15, maybe 20 my stomach wont sag. What will be will be I guess. Thanks for listening. I am using skin firming cream- figure it can't hurt for sure. I need to moisterize anyway.

Good for you! Donating all the junk food will help you a lot. I can't have junk in the house. If it's here, I'm too tempted to eat it. In fact, I start to obsess about it because I can't have it, and then I want it all the more.

As for the skin thing...most plastic surgeons suggest that you wait until you've been at your goal weight for 6-12 months before having plastic surgery. I had a breast reduction before my band surgery, and since losing weight, I have some excess skin hanging over the old incision lines, but it's not awful. And I know a woman who regained about 40 lbs after her TT, has lost 30 of that, and her abdomen still looks great. I think your age is a big factor in this - as we get older, our skin loses resilience.

She was in her late 40's, so there's hope for you yet!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
