Am I Too Full?

Recommended Posts

So I had a fill yesterday. I was at 1.5cc in my 10cc and band and she added 1cc. Yesterday I was on liquids and today I am on mushies. Today the mushies are hurting me. I get a pain in my chest and my throat starts gargling and my mouth fills with saliva. I do not get the urge to throw up but it does hurt. Could this just be that my stomach is swollen from the fill or should I get and have them take some out? How many days should I wait to find out if this stops?

Swollen, yes, probably. Remember to sip your mushies and take small bites of food once you're able to. Call your Dr if you're concerned?

I got 3.5cc's on Monday and less than 24 hours later I was back getting some taken out. I had the same symptoms as you described. If you are uncomfortable just sipping, you are likely too tight. I felt instant relief when he removed .5cc. Hang in there!

My doctor says 24 hours full liquids then 24 hours mushies. Did you move to mushies before 24 hours? I would say if by day 3 you can't eat 3 oz of mushie Protein you are to tight.

I went to my Dr and got 3/4 of a cc taken out because I tried 1 bite of a piece of chicken and thought I was gonna die. She said my stomach was probably just extra swollen and next time I will need to stay on liquids for 2 days then mushies another 2 days instead of 1 and 1.

My surgeon's ofc recommends 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids for fills and unfills. ( i usually don't do 2 days clear for unfills).

Be careful because you are likely swollen. Best wishes, Karen

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
