I had trouble with driving too. I drive about 30-35 minutes to and from work. It lasted about 5-6 weeks for me. People probably thought I was crazy because I would lift my left arm and hold onto the head rest. Good luck and hopefully the pain will reside soon. Good luck!

LOL I do the same thing. non stop adjusting on my car rides to work. Glad to know it only lasted about 5 to 6 weeks for you. Hopefully I’ll be in that category too :) thanks for the help!!!

I was told by my dr that I could not jogg/run for 4-6 weeks after surgery. You have to let your inside heal other wise you risk something happening and I'm sure that you don't want to be in the er in pain. I would ask your dr to be sure :)

Driving I can do fine (even got to pull the seat forward!! Love the visible wins!!), but I work retail and after two hours of constantly being on my feet, bending and stretching, I'm done. Doc wants me in light duty for two more weeks at the least (total one month after surgery.). Just take it easy and you'll be fine. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
