How Often Do You Get Stuck?

Recommended Posts

In the last 3 weeks, zero times. I have been paying really close attention to what I eat an how well I chew.

When I rush, take too big of bites, and don't chew well enough I get stuck. But even when I was slacking and not paying attention I would only get stuck at most once a month.

I think 3 times a week is a lot.

How often do you get stuck. I get stuck about 3 times a week. I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I have been banded 9 months.

Never, only raw carrots and cheap white bread give me problems.

Do u mean stuck, and then have to throw it up?, or stuck and you have pain for a few mins until it passes?...I have never thrown up in the 7 months ive been banded, but i do get a stuck episode every now and then, and have to do some walking around and bend my back to get the food to pass. Not a good feeling, but kind of hard not to experience once in a while. If you feel you get stuck too often, might be too tight? Or intake of food is too much,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
