Hoe much Protein are you getting? Do you eat enough calories? Are you near your goal weight? Schedule an appointment with your dietician and bring a food diary with you! Renember too, your body needs to adjust anx we have to plateau, unfortunately! Also, maybe add sime weights to your cardio workout. Lean muscle burns fat. Good luck! Dont give up!

Unfortunatly I still have 80 lbs to go, Im sure I can do more Protein, but I get so dang sick of drinking one every day, as for excersise I do the treadmill when my arthristis is not acting up. I am glad to hear that we all hit a platueau. hopefully I'll start moving that needle down pretty soon. thank you for the info

I lost most of my weight in the first 4 months as well. Over the last 6 months, I have only lost a little over 20 lbs. I will plateau for a month or so and then lose a couple of pounds and then plateau again. There was a couple of months, where there was nothing. I thought for sure that was going to be my weight forever, but eventually it goes down if you stick with it. Changing things up might help as well. Good luck, keep up the good work.

I got the band in August 2010 and got pregnant in November 2010. My band was at 7cc while pregnant and honestly I felt as if I was able to eat normal. Then 2 months after having the baby I got my band filled to a 9cc in a 10cc band. I am very restricted. Since then I just dont seem to lose weight I am not gaining either I am up 2 lbs down 2lbs but same weight... its becoming extremly depressing.... So I totally understand what your going through.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
