It's almost here! Friday the 13th.

I am starting to get a little more nervous but not as much as I though I would. How has it been for the rest of you? Did you get more nervous the closer it got to surgery? Or was it smooth sailing all the way?

Teri

I was really only slightly nervous the morning of. Off course, I had the usual concerns prior, but not enough to question the actual surgery. I figured if anything was going to go wrong, the hospital was the place to be with the trained professionals ;)

I think it's pretty normal to be nervous. I was! When I get nervous, I get really quiet and calm. It's sorta weird. I would be concerned about you if you DIDN'T get a bit of the butterflies.

I'm sure you will both do great and I can't wait to hear how everything went.

Remember this is just a small part of your life changing journey!

Be awesome!

hugs,

j~

I am quickly running out of time before my surgery. I had my last real meal tonight and tomorrow is all Clear Liquids. Monday morning is surgery.

Hope all went well for you and can't wait to hear your report on the other side.

Things went very well for me, thank you! Almost 36 hours post op and so far no shoulder pain. I'm keeping up with the minimum amount of pain meds the doctor gave me though. My husband is keeping an eye on it and stretching the 4-6 hours to 5 hours today and 6 hours tomorrow to help me out.

So glad to hear things went well for you! Would love to hear how it went and how you're feeling now! My day is Thursday so I'm getting super nervous!

2 days post op and doing pretty good. Right now the toughest thing for me is trying to decide if my pains are gas, hunger, incision, muscle or if I'm too full. I've been sipping Water all the time and have also had some Protein Shakes, greek yogurt, SF popsicles, applesauce and SF Jello. I haven't had pain meds for about 9-10 hours and trying to decide if I should take some or not. Pain is not bad at all or I would have had more by now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
