I was banded in February. I got off my meds on my own. I'm going to see that the docotor says after 3 months on no metformin. I have been doing good I believe and the weight keeps coming off

Ladies, thank you for the comments:) I have a webcite www.pcos-information.com. It has alot of information despight being in the baby stages. Also, if you are on facebok, I have a "like" page. Just look up pcos-information and I should pop up. I post alot of good information and articles (best diet plan for pcos, the grieving process, alternative treatments, new research, self esteem, infertility, RX info, things to be ware of, general health) on there about 4 or 5 times a week. Please add me... its the resource I wish that I had when I was diagnosed 10 years ago.

I have pcos. I was banded may 2011 and

weighed 276lbs period. Now I weigh 223. It's been a tough road but my doctor and nutritionist say I'm doing great. I exercise

4-5 days a week but right now I keep losing and gaining the same 5lbs. So frustrating. Good luck! Despite my plateau, I am very pleased. I went from wearing a 22-24 to a 16.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004 and have been fighting with weight loss ever since. After discussing with my OBGYN, Cardiologist, and Endocrinologist they all agree that Lap Band surgery will "HELP" me with weight loss, but it will be much harder than someone without PCOS.

I have mixed emotions, and thoughts of being a failure on a daily basis. I dont want this to be another diet attempt that doesnt work.

I am on 2500mg of Metformin daily, Birth control, and BP meds. The only weight loss success I have had with any diet was being on a STRICT INSULIN RESISTANT DIET. It is similar to The South Beach, but I basically just ate chicken and berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry) for my Breakfast lunch and dinner. I lost close to 30lbs and was thrilled, but the second i stopped and put any carb in my mouth I gained weight and bloated severly.

So after discussion with the nutritionist, I will be on the liquid diet 2 weeks before my band and then after ofcourse. But once I can start with mushies ect, i will try to follow an insulin resistan diet because it worked well for me in the past.

I have found alot of good advice and support here with other bandsters that have PCOS and they all agree that EXERCISE really helps.

So I hope this helped you, and my surgery is set for June 11th. I will try and keep you posted :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
