My Doctor charges $150 if your insurance doesn't cover them.

Thanks guys I have really been worried about it. Im so close but it seems like I might lose my insurance right after I get it. At least I hope I can get it before my insurance is gone. Keep your fingers crossed.

You could call the office that will be following you outpatient and ask them what they charge.?

It depends completely on the doctor. I used to have my fills done under fluoroscopy and they were $250. With my current doctor, he charges $50 for an office visit and $100 for an office visit with a fill. He does "blind" fills. I am self pay.

My fills cost $200 until my deductible is met then it is 100%. $50 for just an office visit.

What is "blind" fills.

Fills done without fluoroscopy. Doctor inserts needle without the guidance of X-ray and there is no way for the doctor to observe your restriction.

With fluoroscopy doctor has a visual for port access and can observe your restriction level under X-ray.

I prefer fluoroscopy, but my new doctor doesn't do them that way.

Thank you for the information. Now to find out if my insurance covers the fills or not. Either way it won't change my mind about getting the surgery!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
