    • Isn't that the point of the band? I won't take them. That is why I got this band!!!

    • I don't think it is good to take them, but I am not opposed to the idea.

    • I take them on occasion.

    • I take pills/supplements/suppressors/boosters regularly to promote and give my weight loss an added edge along with the tool of my band. Why not make the most of the situation?

The Quick Slim 30 are only $60 a month. What I liked is I only needed to take one in the morning. I am going to hold off in buying them until I am banded. My friend had restriction right off the bat but I also hear that a lot of people don't. If I feel hungry, I will buy them just to take the edge off in those first 6 weeks. I know they say if you eat anything besides what they say in the first 6 weeks you have higher chance of slippage.

Well I am currently taking phentermine because I am not at the proper restriction. My fill nurse did not put me back where I was suppose to be after I had the baby. We switched insurance and not I can not afford a fill just yet. On top of that I have to pay what I owe on the first fill. Once I get all the finances figured out, I'll get another fill. Until then, I am restricting my diet, taking Vitamins and the phen.....I just can't bare the thought of gaining another pound. I am only giving myself 3-4 months.......

I was just prescribed Raductil 15mg by my nutritionist at my recent unfill - i am thrilled as it is working and i have very little appetite with no side effects to date. I feel like everyone else that say I can only eat a few bites and i'm stuffed - but i never eat to stuffed. It also seems to effect me mentally as I don't care about food - the head hunger aspect. I only felt this once in my life on the phen/phen protocol and I've always said that was the best for me - I could eat two tortillo chips and not care about another one. Even with the band I still struggle with head hunger, stopping when full, etc. I'm willing to live with that and do my part working with the tool - but i want to lose weight - that's why I got it.

I have always followed the bandster rules (not perfect but about 95%) but wasn't losing - i am happy i have this tool to support me and to see some results.

When banded i didn't think i would ever 'diet' or take these pills again but i still have to do both to be successful. I'm hoping my 'loss to date' will continue to increase!

okay..

my doctor put me on a Multivitamin supplement. and when i ran out of the liquid i went to chewable, plus i take extra Calcium (because im female and i know ill need it later and wish my mom would have taken it sooner) and Iron (because im slightly anemic) and extra vit c because im getting over a bad cold.

i also take chromium picolinate daily.

If i could get on phentermine again i probably would.

I had a pleasant experience on it before.

I think that its a mistake to expect the band to do all the work. It means you didnt listen to the doctors, or any of the support sites or any of the websites from the manufacturers. it blows my mind sometimes to hear people all agast that their band "didnt work" when they eat donuts and cheeseburgers all day.

before anyone even goes there YES im pms'n....

I took Phentermine for about 6 months, at first they killed my hunger 100 percent. My blood pressure went up a little but not bad, the doctor gave me high blood pressure pills to take to get rid of the Water weight, they made me cramp. Then as time went on I started getting hungry again, the weight loss was the same, good at first then slowed down and then it stopped. I don't have a lapband yet, just now starting to get things on the works. I got my medical records today, have my sleep study set for the 5th of next month.

I would like to know about depression, after the band, do you get depressed when someone is eating what you love and you aren't suppose to eat it? I know now I do, when the employees are eating I feel left out. How is that handled?

Is there anything special Blue Cross of Arkansas is looking for in the request for pre-approval?

Where can we buy Hoodia and Quick Slim 30, I had to have 1/2 my fill removed 2 weeks ago and I am so afraid to gain weight.

I think this poll is confusing. If you mean diet pills and appetite suppressors I'd say that they are not a good thing. With the band or bypass you are effectively doing THE most radical eating-changing thing to yourself....why on EARTH would you compound that with diet pills and suppressors....not to mention the fact that those things aren't good for you in the first place....and in the state our bodies are in now I would think our hold on balancing the checmicals in our bodies is tenuous As for supplements, heck YEAH. We HAVE to take supplements (i.e. vitamins) because with the small intake our bodies are getting we need those added Vitamins and minerals to maintain normalcy. But....each to their own.

I got the hoodia awhile ago and I felt like it did absolutely nothing. I felt like it was a complete waste of money. I was told the kind you buy from costco in

a red box was pure hoodia and I may as well just flushed money down the toilet.

well I sort of do take them occasionally, so that is how I voted. But I don't really take diet pills. What I take are stimulants. Diet pills, however, tend to be stimulants. And stimulants do speed stuff up and decrease the appetite. Its the speeding up stuff (like my heart rate) that makes me not so very fond of them in general. But I do think the way some of them can help with the staying awake sometimes is nice (I'm narcoleptic) so there is that aspect. I guess people need to weight cost versus risk. If a pill or whatever is worth it, why not? Is the cure worse than the disease? Right now I am able to be awake without stimulants actually-- other narcolepsy meds are doing the trick for me, so I'm lucky.

I take Stacker 2's and Yellow Swarms ( over the counter weight loss pills ) and I had been taking them for years before being banded so I'm use to them and I don't get the jittery feeling. Also, I think they do give me that little extra energy that I need to keep going cuz without them I'm lifeless.

I take a Vitamin that is for dieters. It's the one-a-day weight smart. It doesn't suppress the appetite nor does it try to boost the metabolism. It gives extra Vitamins and minerals needed to help get our food converted to fuel since we have lowered our caloric intake. I've only been on them for a couple of days. BTW - they are huge pills. I split them into four pieces to swallow them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
