Need some advice...Colonics

Recommended Posts

My question is, would these be the types of things you would have to take off work for the cleansings and such? I have also heard of some docs putting you out before they do a colonic, has anyone else heard of this and if so where can I find that?

I had a colonoscopy last year and they did twilight sedation - didn't feel a thing!

I know someone who did the drnatura thing and she said it did a good cleanse without the alien looking bm's.

My blood pressure was really high they said when they got me into the procedure room and I am thinking they gave me less sedation because of that, and that is why I was awake!

I've seen a colonocopy done on TV. Really the colon doesn't look "dirty." I know folks have enema before the procedure. However, how is a colonic different than an enema? Shawn

I remember looking at the video screen the doctor was looking at and my colon was pink and glistening...I think that is the way it is supposed to look....and I can guarantee you it was clean!

Check out colon cleansers on the net. Not to use on an everyday basis but occasionally. If you don't mind Metamucil mixed with orange juice it sure would help you to drink some every day. I honestly don't mind the orange flavored in the least and just gulp it right down. Once a mo. or so a colon cleanser is a good thing...also can help you lose weight. Good luck.

I "have no product to promote" either. I was merely telling MY firsthand account of what happened to me. Me. Not anyone else. I have spent my entire life in the public safety field. Police officer/paramedic. It takes a lot to convince me. I did the drnatura thing and could not believe my eyes! I'm a bright girl, I know what came out of my own bum. Nobody else was present so I have no first hand witness for any of you but I assure you....what I saw, shocked me.

I get duped everytime I post thinking this is an open forum to exchange ideas. Go ahead, tell me again I didn't see aliens in my ginormus slimy poo.

P.S if your grossed out by poo...why did you open a thread titled "Colonics" and then feel the need to comment? So odd.

I found some information regarding cleansing products such as the one linked to above on a website called quackwatch.org. Clearly, this website has a different agenda than the one promoting the cleansing product, but it's interesting to see both sides.

"Some people have reported expelling large amounts of what they claim to be feces that have accumulated on the intestinal wall. However, experts believe these are simply 'casts' formed by the Fiber contained in the 'cleansing' products."

http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/gastro.html

The article talks about colonics, too.

strawarts, that is an interesting article. the only problem is that there are things that happen when you do a liver or colon cleanse that proves what it is doing. When I have done liver and colon cleansing, my skin breaks out as toxins are being removed. for me, my skin is the exit for a lot of the toxins in my body. So for the first few days i breakout. then my skin clears up and has a very healthy glow all over. i have much much more energy, and i do not have a weighed down feeling, or drowsy feeling in my head all the time. my digestion is easier and quicker, and i have a lot less gas. and it takes me for me to get drunk. LOL my pcp, who is a medical doc, not a chiro or natropath, believes that it is good to do a cleanse at least once a year. hedoes believethat toxemia can cause many problems, as well as make it hard to lose weight sometimes.

Now this being said...I do not believe those products that make you have "alien shits" and crap more than a bull. I think that is inflated Fiber. ButI think some flax seed, a good liquid flush anda regular fiber intake is a good thing to keep you liver and colon healthy. It won't cure cancer, but it will help you feel lighter and stronger.

well, i decided to do the colonic thing. i had 3 before i left to go out of town for a month. the first one was VERY difficult and uncomfortable. by the third it was not so bad. i don't have any weird looking snakes coming out, but i am getting rid of a lot of toxins. the day after i feel light and really wonderful, my skin is glistening.

i will be out of town till the end of march but plan on doing a series of 10 when i get back and see how i feel : )

thanks for all the great advice. you guys are the best : )!!!

Go to a massage therapist. Every time I go to my massage appointments it always stirs a good healthy bowel movement. I finally got the courage to ask the therapist if this is a coincidence and she told me that by stimulating the muscles it promotes expulsion of waste, including bowel movements (both #1 and #2). Also releases a lot of toxins, and is why they ask you to drink plenty of Water for the next 24 hours to flush it all out.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
