2Nd Fill March 15 And Have Only Lost 2 Pounds Since!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery Dec 9, 2011. I have had 2 fills with the most recent one March 15. It seems since then I haven't seen the scales move much at all! Feeling a little frustrated and scared this thing is going to stop working. My starting weight was 327 and now I'm 271and I'm also down from a size 26 to a 20. I see results but after losing weight and then not seeing the scale move for a few days is so frustrating to me. Has this happened to anyone else?

It's only been a week! Be patient, it would be amazing if we coukd see the scale move every single day, but that's not how it works unfortunately!!, I have not seen my scale move at all this pazt month!!! UGH! Usually, in the beginning, if the scale didn't move for several days, it would all of sudden show a two pound loss one day. So hang in there it will move eventually.

We were banded the same day! Trust me I'm really struggling too! I've only lost about 20 lbs : / I had my third full yesterday and I think I feel a pinch? Not too sure yet .....

It's really hard to stop obcessing over the scales sometimes, but I try not to weigh in everyday or so, because it can change from hour to our for no particular reason. I came home from vacation and I know I didn't do as well on meals as I should have, but the scale told me I lost 3#'s. Now when I was really measuring everything before that, I may have lost a pound. I think alot has to do with the amount of excercise you get to. I walked my tail off while on vacation, so I guess the extra calories I took in was lost do to all the hiking and walking we did. Hopefully next week, now that I am back on track, it doesn't come back to bite me.lol

Good Luck, give it some time and keep a food and excercise log if you can. It helps to keep me honest. Most of the time, if I don't do that well, it shows me in the writing what I might have done wrong.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
