8 Months Out And Have Barely Lost Any Weight. Help!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on July/7/ 2011, pre-op I lost 10 lbs, then in about 3 months post op another 10 lbs, then after ward I stareted gaining back slowly but surely and now I am back to my pre-op weight. I don't feel a great restriction, although I have some and with some food it is greater than others. I have 5cc in a 10 cc band already which was done very gradual 3-4 fills. Is it possible that I have streched my pouch somehow? I just started exercising. Zumba for about one week and a little more concious of my food intake. since then I have gianed about 2 lb. any suggestions. thanks

I would do 3 things:

1 Call my surgeon and get another fill. Sounds like you could use one.

2 The band and exercise go hand in hand. So you must move it to lose it.

Get out and walk, bike, swim at your Physical Therapy Gym. If you have Ins...

You can get in and use there equipment. Thats what I do. 3X a week. Then on the

off days, I walk the Dog around the block. Find what you need to help you.

3 Also do you belong to myfitnesspal.com If not sign up its free.

I also belong there. Losingintime is my UN there. So look me up...

Sounds like you don't have enough restriction. Also it's impotant to exercise. I am a slow loser even though I try and stay below 1000-1200 cal a day and am doing 2 hour of cardio a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
