Not a big deal...this whole thing is a very long process and there is no such thing as perfection...

Haaa you probably aren't the first to do that. I didn't have to do a liquid diet. Just low fat for one week. I lost 8 lbs that week.

NO BIGGIE AT ALL! If it scared you straight all the better - i've been off all carbonation since pre-op and at new years i totally forgot and had a champaign toast at midnight - no harm no foul but i haven't done it before or since - you'll be fine!

Its really hard reevaluating something so essential as eating...weve been doing it out of pleasure, habit, and necessity all our lives. I was on a liquid diet for a grand total of 7 weeks and EVERY single day I forgot that I was. food didn't make it to my mouth as in your case but when my son asked for his pretzels, I would grab them and have to freeze, for the shortest of seconds, to recall something I was supposed to remember. Oh, thats right -- dont eat these. When my supervisor would tell me I was on lunch, my stomach would tense for the teeniest of moments with confusion about my lack of lunch destination and excitement about eating.. Oh.... right, broth. I'd pass a diner nearby and think to myself that its been a while since my son and I had a little dinner date outing, maybe tomorrow we'll...wait, no we wont. A coworker would offer a piece of chocolate and my hand would be halfway there -- um, no...but thanks for offering. needless to say, I was very hungry very constantly and I just had to stop multiple times every day and bring to the front of my mind that little nagging feeling in the back --what am I forgetting right now? Oh..

Its really really hard. It goes against our instincts and, in particular, our habits. We're overweight in many cases because we NEVER stop to think about eating before we do it.

You're not alone! Im sure no harm was done by the chips. :) But let your new food choices and, ultimately, new life style be a little buzz in the back of your mind. Itll become second nature one day if you're successful but for now imagine a little jiminy cricket on your shoulder always reminding you...both that you're on a liquid diet now, and to make good food choices/chew well, once you're eating again. You can do it!

Yeah, I was stressing over a few chips.. I guess since I'm so use to just eating I didn't realize until they were down. I fell asleep really early yesterday and didnt have my Protein shake. So this morning i'm having my Protein Shake, it doesn't taste as good as the chips did yesterday though lol :P but i'm drinking it... :) slowly but surely.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
