Unfill For Plastics??

Recommended Posts

I did not get an unfill with my knee surgery and I was fine. I had to get an unfill recently because I was too tight. I can eat anything and I gained a few pounds but I am now back to following WW and I lost a couple. I will leave it this way for my surgery and just watch what I eat. I don't want to be tight or risk a PB episode after surgery. I was wondering if I needed more Fluid out of the band for my PS but based on your posts I should be fine.

When I went for my unfill my lapband doctor said he absolutly thought it was the best idea so that I wasn't at risk for aspirating during surgery. He just loosened me, didn't completly unfill me. I'm glad I did but I did gain weight. I've gained 17 lbs... didn't help that I had complications and haven't been able to exercise since May 5th :( Getting tightened back up on Tuesday though.

I had a TT last June and I didn't get an unfill and had no problems at all. My PS never discussed it. I'm scheduled for a brachioplasty on July 2, still praying about it as I will have exactly 2 weeks to recover.

I had my TT May 22. My lap band Dr recommended to pull out 2cc. I'm glad I did, as I have had no episodes of vomitting, which I am very thankful for, as it hurts to cough. I think

The decision to have Fluid removed prior to surgery or not depends on how you were doing prior to surgery. I was vomitting occasionally prior to surgery and needed to make sure that didn't happen while I was healing. I don't think there's a definitive right or wrong to have fluid removed or not, just depends on the person and how they have been doing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
