Hehe I am starving too! I believe the reason is so that your stomachs can heal properly. I watched them do the lap band procedure on utube and good heavens no wonder we are sore!!

I just got banded on Tuesday and I could not imagine putting anything but liquids in my stomach right now. I'm sure that will change by tomorrow! lol

You are on liquid post op because your doctor probably has sewn your stomach above and below the band to prevent it from moving; and you don't want your stomach churning (if you were to eat solids). Please follow your doctors orders. I know it's sucks but it is for your own good. My doctor said 7 days Clear Liquids (stock)and then on day 8 full liquids (tomato soup) for another 7 days. On day 15 I could have yogurt which I mixed with stick blender and added milk to make it thinner. Greek yogurt has more Protein which makes you feel full longer. I recommend having your broth/soup and then wait an hour to have the Protein Shake. This will help with the head hunger. If you have everything at once you will have another 4 hours before you can eat again.

My dr has me on clear liquid for 2 days. Then full liquids for one week. Yogurt is included on this one. You should be fine, I think we will all have to learn to eat slower! Has anyone had nausea yet? They gave me that patch to wear for 3 days and I haven't had any, just wondering if that's fixing to change. Thanks for any help!

Stacey,

My dr said once you are on the mushy foods, try to add more in and see how you react. Just add things slowly that you can tolerate.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
