I'm a newbie. I had my surgery along with hiatal hernia repair 2/28/12. I'm miserable. This is much harder than I anticipated. I have a constant gnawing pain right below my breastbone. I have not had a bowel movement and I'm starting to worry. I sip on Water all day. I've take ex-lax and Miralax everyday since my surgery. Nothing is working.

Well, you haven't eaten anything since the surgery, right? So, what can you "move"? Try to relax. Once you get onto more solid foods, things will start moving!

I was banded on 12/21 and have not been regular since. I take milk of magnesia and usually that works. In the beginning I would not go all week and than take something on Friday and go all weekend. Now I also chew some Fiber tablets daily. Don't fret you will get it under control. Good Luck!

It's was much harder in the beginning than I thought it would be too. Everyday is a learning experience, this is all new. It can be frustrating and just know that, that is normal and very common. Look for support on here and you will get it. Especially in the beginning make this your life line when it comes to lap band issues. Take it easy...

I also had a hiatal hernia repair with mine and seemed to have some rough days afterwards compared to some others. I had that pain as well and it did go away after about 6-10 days. (I wish I could say it was sooner). I even had a few days of regret but I'm now 9 months since my band and I feel amazing! Get through these next few weeks and you'll be just fine. You're not taking in enough to really have a BM right now so just sip on Water and follow your instructions. Don't get discouraged, things will get much better soon!

if youre on liquids youre not going to have a bm because you have nothing in you, just liquids. the 1st 10 days are the hardest, try hot tea, heating pads, pain relievers Soup broth( i loved campbells chicken noodle soup mushed up into a liquid ) and lots of walking and resting. if not better soon , call your drs office.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
