Gonna Be Banded In March:-)

PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome

One of the main treatments for it is weight loss, but the hormones involved make it harder to lose weight. Go figure. It causes infertility too, along with other unfortunate things.

boy.. i know exactly how you feel. im up and down like a yoyo. some times im feeling really guilty because ive allowed myself to get to this... has anyone else suffered from that?? its not good for self esteem. im hoping that feeling will go away completely. i dont need lack of self esteem to get in the way of it all. its quite destructive actually.

Judych, I understand COMPLETELY! I always tell people is a vicious cycle, you eat because you are sad and you are sad because you are overweight (at least for some of us). I think my greatest challenge will be to give up eating out my emotions. All I want is to not be hungry anymore, that I am not physically able to eat so much, and I hope the band will help me with that. They just moved my surgery for the 23 but still im excited.

hi there.. i agree with the comments made here. ive learned just so much. it was really good to be able to sit with the surgeon and know what to ask him. it was very informative and both hubbie and i appreciated that. i think it was because we knew what to ask about. so this forum is first class in my books. also, i know about the eating, hating myself for doing it but finding its the way to comfort myself... lots of reasons that were not healthy reasons to start with, but it happens.

Two more weeks 3/21 I will be banded ,I don't know if I will be staying overnight, but after hearing peoples saying they was glad they stayed overnight because they felt comfortable to at least stay one night,I'm going to make sure I stay overnight because I want to make sure I was going to be ok.

I am getting banded March 19/12. In Vancouver, Canada. My husband was a year ago and has lost 70lbs. His success changed my mind about it and I'm tired of losing then gaining. This should be very life changing and I'm excited.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
