Riddle Me This Batman..

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Banded on 1/27 and have my first fill this coming Monday. Been very hungry every 2-3 hours but holding on.Here is my question/concern....I feel like I am eating such small amounts of food right now, how can I possibly eat any less after a fill?

For EX, today for Breakfast: powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shake in blender with banana

Lunch: 2 slices of Boar's head turkey in a low carb wrap, low fat yogurt

Dinner: 2 pieces of fish, broc and cauliflower

For a snack I might have a Jello later.

So overall not a lot of food......so after the fill, I'm going to EAT LESS? LOL....just don't see how! Please help me understand unsure.png

You may not eat less, but hopefully you will go longer between feeling hungry.

Are you weighing your Protein? My doctor says 3 oz. of solid protein. Sounds to me like you should increase your protein at lunch and skip the wrap. I have used romaine lettuce leaves as a "wrap" for sandwiches. Also low fat laughing cow cheese is a good subsitute for regular cheese slices. My doctor says to measure the protein and then eat low fat/cal veggies until you feel full. Eating more protein might help you feel full longer.

Exactly, sounds like you are eating the right amounts (or maybe a bit less). The fill may just help you stay feeling full longer.

Just a reminder most doctors want you to do full liquids first 24 hours after a fill and mushies the second 24 hours.

But yes u will be eating less as you get to restriction it will take less to get full. Also u will go longer periods without being hungry so u have to modify what u are eating. For example I was told above all else make sure I get Protein in first. Rest is secondary etc.

I've just had another adjustment and believe this is number 5 or 6. (I've lost track) I get full so fast I make sure Breakfast is my EAS sport prepackaged Protein Shake. It's 11oz with 17g protein, and where I could drink it all fairly quick previously takes me 30min. If I try to force it I know I will be in the bathroom and waste my breakfast. I thought that way like you but once the band starts to tighten you're not going to want anything else.

Hence the reason im up at after 2am miserable b/c I tried to eat that last little bit instead of leavin it alone! Old habits die hard and you'll pay the price when u don't respect this band

A small fill should help lock it in place. Stay on fluids for a few days do to possible swelling, and be careful chew, chew, chew small pieces.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
