Nsv How I Love Thee!!

Recommended Posts

The last month has been a pretty long plateau and I've been getting down on myself about the scale not moving. Today I reminded myself that it isn't always the scale that tells the picture. I did a little shopping and not only was I able to shop in the Misses department, but I bought a dress I would never have touched before. Completely out of my comfort zone, or so I thought. Couldn't wait to get home to try it on for the boyfriend. Big success. Can't wait to wear it. I feel a nice evening out in my future. :)

I find that I enjoy shopping now, trying on clothes and pushing my own boundaries. I have painted toes, that I can see, and feel more feminine than ever before. I don't know if it makes sense, but instead of trying to 'blend in' and not be noticed, I want to say "look at me here I am".

Looking forward to the next stage in my journey. I will reach goal that is a promise I've made to myself that I don't plan to break.

A non surgical victory, such as being able to bend over and tie your shoes, crossing your legs, flying on an airplane without the seatbelt extender, wearing a clothing size without an X .... There are many!!!!

Ah yes, gotcha! Can't wait for some of those!

i thought "NSV" stood for non scale victory ? either way, they're a big ego boost, especially when the scale isnt moving. wait until your pants get baggy, some one says you look thinner, or you can fit into a smaller size. ! good luck to you !

Way to go! I hope you have bright painted toes, put on that sexy dress, and have a great time! You deserve it! What you are feeling totally makes sense and is encouraging for everyone to read. Bring on the NSVs!

My husband and I went shopping yesterday(I make him take me and watch while I model for him). He picked out a dress for me. I tried it on, and it was short, I said so, he says" It only 3 inches above yoyur knees!". I chose not to get it, but smile to myself that he thinks this 63 year old should wear it! Love NSV's too! Karen can I ask how long ago you had the surgery? I'm 60 and wondering how age plays into all of this? I'm very healthy, all my numbers are great other than the scales so I'm hoping all goes fine and with a quick recovery.

I think you should go back and buy the dress and surprise your hubby with a night on the town!

I got my surgery on Oct30, 2009. I made goal in 2010, not sure what date! You can do it, I was 250? when I started my 6 month diet. The doctor had me on 1/2 phen diet pill for the 6 months, but took me off beore my surgery. It was suggested by the nutrionist to use a salad plate and small fork, I still do. It helps alot.

We bought the dress, but I packed it into a box to send to my sister, who is naturally smaller and shorter for her birthday. It was a knit dress, whichis not exactly Central Florida type wear. She will proabaly get more use oyut of it than I!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
