I hear ya!! I paid for a full year at a gym a while back & never went. Sucks doesn't it!? But, after having surgery I was determined to get in shape. The first time I stepped foot in the most recent gym I SOOOO wanted to run out the door & scream. I was very embarassed by my jiggly stomach, big ol' behind & fat legs. It was not a pretty sight. I even hired a trainer who probably thought it was a joke when she saw me!! When I stepped on the scale there was absolute SILENCE. She said nothing & it was very awkward. I went home & cried. I decided I wasn't going back. Except for the fact that I already paid the money!! BIG BUCKS!! So, I went back and endured the agony. And it was AGONY!! But, after 4 months I am feeling good!! I am lifting weights with the big guys.

YOU CAN DO IT!! YOU CAN DO IT!! Get over the emberassment & get something out of all the money you're paying every month at the gym. ha!

Well, if our personal trainer gives us crap, we'll kick him out of his room.

Our son just recently qualified as a personal trainer for our gym

Our gym is blessed with all shapes and sizes and we've been there and trained while in bad shape. Everyone is very encouraging.

We're certainly at opposite ends of the spectrum and he's been nagging us to get with the damn program for years.

I am looking forward to getting in the pool and swimming some laps. Which of course is maximum exposure time but... screw em.

Soon. Oh yes. Soon.

 HA!! You have a personal trainer living in your home!!!! Well then, you don't need any advice from me. You got all you need in the next room. I'm not sure if I should be happy for you or feel sorry for you. :straight

So.....good luck with that!!! :clap2:

And, I do hope your jiggly skin improves. :biggrin1:

wah wah wah dawg, LOL personal trainer in the house and you are whining about Jello skin. hehehehe don't make me hurt you. sit on the edge of the couch while you are watchin tv and do some leglifts. or pick uppnut a few times to work on those arms and chest. see...no gym time. LOL

joking, as always, but really, swimming will be good (the jiggly skin in the Water might tickle) but get some weight work done. dumbells and all that.

As for the brain band...without turning this into an adult thread, you know what I could say about the male member and cutting off blood to the brain to lessen thoughts. I doubt you need a surgery for this.

"Im very very happy with my weight loss,Each day I get up I look in the mirrow and see a new face! A very slim face That I,have not sceen for over twenty years!

According to the standards set by the health professionals Im some where under ten pounds of being over weight! I can live with that. I have a medium frame so I tell my self that to keep me happy.Or I"d find my self over Exercising with a hurt back, bad knee!

Even with all this weight loss,I some time feel fat, because of the loose skin! I think its all just in my mind?

realistically....doctors say that it take one to two years for your skin to shrink as much as it is going to to the new you. it also takes about that long for your brain to figure out that you are skinny again. dlayed response...but at least in 2 years you will officially be a skinny. in heart mind, skin, fat and soul.

Every time I walk in the kitchen, I eye the meat cleaver. I want to take it to the inside of my thighs, which are deflated and...ugh so nasty.

But hey. At least they're not full anymore. I should be happy with that, but I'm not, completely. Somewhat, just not completely.

I hear ya Dawg.

I feel the same exact way about myself. I thought about it and figured it was because I was actually working at it. I actually have to think about my body and as the pounds drop I actually look at myself in the mirror to see what changes, if any, are there. When I was 60 pounds heavier I didn't think about what was going in my mouth and didn't dare look in the mirror to see what was going on becuase then I might have to think twice about what WAS going in my mouth. Some of mine was the denial that I was ever THAT BIG. I see the same pictures now that I saw when they were taken and can't believe that I let myself get that way, when at the time I was thinking, Man that was taken at a bad angle for me! So now when I see how much MORE weight I have to lose I feel huge!! 66 pounds is a lot of weight gone, but when you have 80 more pounds to go it's just the tip of the iceburg. I keep telling myself that when I hit back under 200 I will see it. But now I'm wondering if I'm just destitute to always feeling fat no matter how much weight I lose? I really hope that's not the case for any of us.

To me it's some of the same logic that goes along with how as teenagers we think we know everything and we don't mind telling people that, but as we get older we see just how much we don't know that we feel inadequate not knowing enough. Just a thought.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
