2 Months Post Op, May Be Pregnant

Recommended Posts

I'm freaking out right now! I was banded on Oct 17th and have actually been doing pretty good I've lost over 40 pounds with no complications but I could be pregnant now. Me and my fiance had our usual protected sex but after finishing we relaized the condom had broke and it was too late. I know they say to at least wait a year so I'm scared to death right now. I still have two weeks before my period to take a test but everytime in the past we had unprotected sex we have got pregnant first thing. We have a beautiful happy healthy 3 year old daughter and I had a miscarriage 10 months after we had her. The reason for the miscarriage was I was taken birth control pills and didn't reliaze I was pregnant. So has any one else gotten pregnant this close out? And how did it go? I'm scared to death!!!

It would be a good idea to contact your doctor and tell the nurse...they would be able to tell you what to do. They say not so soon because the port is attached to your abdominal wall, and your muscles stretch with a pregnancy, as im sure you know. But its best to be safe and give them a heads up

If you suspect you are pregnant, make sure you are taking your Vitamins and getting balanced nutrition (which is probably currently better than you were eating before). Then, call your Dr immediately. I don't want to scare you, but I was just reading last night that nutrition-related birth defects occur in the first two weeks of pregnancy, which is why it is so important to plan your pregnancies, and if you THINK you may be pregnant, see your Dr immediately. Don't wait. Let us know how you make out!

Just wait till you know, dont panic there is nothing you can do. Just wait, I know a lady who had a great pregnancy with her band in place ... the band isnt an issue.

Don't freak!! It's all ok. I had my band in August 10 and got pregnant (on purpose with IVF) in March. When I was 11 weeks I went in and had 3.5cc removed from my band and continued my pregnancy with 2.5ccs. My baby was born 11/17 at 7.6lbs. She is perfect and I had no problems at all. Continue your Vitamins and call your Dr when you get a + hpt.

GOOD LUCK!!

Kimmis Mommy I am a nurse and I really think that you need to inform your doctor right away to get his take on it. I believe that you really need the nutrition for the baby and waiting 2 weeks or more is not a good idea. Things happen at mysterious times and way, Please let us know how things go and the best of luck to you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
