Happy Holidays! The first few days are not pleasant, that's for sure. For my pain, I drank a lot of Water, and walked around the house as much as possible. I also was wearing my CPAP which created a lot of pressure in my stomache. I went to the doctor and they reduced the pressure. I also put a pillow under my knees. That is what worked for me :) Best of luck to you!

that might be where your port is attached- that's where mine is. it's gonna hurt for a while, but it gets better each day- i'm a month and a half out and still get an uncomfortable feeling every now and again in that area. just after my surgery i found when i moved around very much to sort of 'hold' that spot and it made moving a little less painful. feel better!

Your port is located near your biggest incision which is usually in your belly bottom. Since you are so newly banded as another person said I guess it is your port that is hurting. It is stitched to your muscle and can be sore up to a month after the surgery.

My port is to the left of my belly buttom and a little down. It hurt for a few weeks post op

Ok it must be my port. It is to left and the largest incision. Thanks! That makes since to me now

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
