I just did the Lapband on December 1, 2011. I lost 22lbs since the surgery. I'm so excited about losing. It's like I'm scared to eat or drink anything because I don't know how much my body will allow me to handle. So, so far I am only consuming maybe 2oz of liquids(water,or sugar free no cal. drinks) and only able to get about 60g of Protein in. It's hard to get protein that is required (70g). Also, drinking the amount of Water that is required. I'm ready to exercise!!. What is a good technique to get protein and water all in one day. Please advise me someone!!!!!!!!!! sad.png

Congrats on the banding...I will be getting banded soon... A few of my banded friends use Kellogg's K20 Protein Water....They love it. So it helps you get your protein and your liquids in. It just might work for you...Here is the link that explains it more in details....Keep up the great work!

Congratulations! That's more than a pound a day...holy crap!

I haven't been banded yet either, but I have a question...only 2 oz of Water a day? I'd asked about that at my doc's office, actually, because here in Texas it's pretty important to stay hydrated in the summer. They told me water passes right through the band.

I guess maybe that's something that happens after recovery from surgery, etc? I hope! LOL

Breakfast : 1/4 cup oatmeal splash of milk (cooked in water)

Snack: Protein Shake 8oz of 1% milk and 1 scoop Protein (I purchased my protein from Walmart )

Lunch : 1/4 cup cottage Cheese

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
