New Here-questions-sorry If You Have Heard Them, But There Is A Lot To Dig Through

Thanks. I am pretty short anywho. I live in high heels. With my shoes off I am most likely 5'3 and 200. which would put me juuuuuust under 35, i think.

Ankle wieghts might work or just fudge the height check. You can just slink down a little and lower your height an inch or so. That should get you where you need to be.

I too have PCOS. I had to go on Metformin to get pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago. In June, before my surgery, my TSH level showed that my thyroid was not working well. I weighed 214 and had no energy! My number was 12.1 and supposed to be between 0 and 1. He put me on levothyroxin, 75 mcg and it brought my level to 4.7. He upped the meds to 88 mcg and my level went to 0.4. I had my surgery in July and have lost 34 pounds, now at 180. When my blood test came back last week for a check up, my TSH levels were too low!! He had to decrease my meds and thinks with another 20 pounds, I could go off them entirely! Being overweight is so damaging to the hormone levels in a woman. Maybe with the surgery, your hormone levels could go back to normal and you not need a hysterectomy.

BTW, I was right at 34.8 as a BMI and my insurance didn't want to cover the surgery. I paid the 12,000 and three weeks later had my band. I can always make more money, but I can't get back time wasted feeling bad about myself. I am glad I took the plunge! Good luck to you and I hope it all works out.

My Dr (pcp) is putting me through the ringer with testing righ

t now, blood tests for hormone levels, ultrasound of pelvis, because I have had my period for 1.5 months. Hell. Waiting on blood tests, but the ultrasound came out normal, which is good. She was originally thinking pcos, but I don't know if that would show on ultrasound. The guy that did the ultrasound said everything looks normal, and thatvits probably hormones . I think my body is just begging me to lose some weight!

anything in that belly area should be checked by a gastro and gyno. I would not leave that up to a PCP. Just my opinion. I let too many things go, for to long and then once I found the right specialists I was a jumbled mess. My endo had my organs basically fuzed together and then fuzed to my abdomenal wall. it was an 8 hour surgery, which would never had been done if I listened to my old gyno which dod not specialize in endo. Bottom line I could have avoided A L O T of trama.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
