Hungry And Needs 1st Lap Band Fill

Recommended Posts

I was banded on October 3rd. As of today I have lost 40 pounds. I could not be happier. Well that was up till two days ago. I did great for Thanksgiving, I was not hungry and passed up pies. I had my 20 year HS reunion on Sat. night and did not eat all day, had 3 drinks and came home to eat crackers and cheese. Sunday I was a bit more hungry but did great and today Monday I am so hungry, ate more than I should have and more than I have since surgery. I have gone to the gym everyday, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sunday. I was supose to get my fill the day before Thanksgiving but said I would not be able to eat. Is my boday just saying I am ready for a fill. I do not want to be hungry like this anymore, I liked it before when I could only eat a very little. Help, has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks for your help... Krisy

I was banded on 10/26 and my hunger is back. Back to eating as much as before being banded, but still losing just not a lot! My next appointment is next week and am hoping for my first fill. But since I'm still losing I'm not sure he will give it me!

I was banded on 11/4/11 and loved the first week because I lost 10lbs and wasn't hungry at a. After those 5 days the weightless stopped and the hunger kicked in!!!!!! I told my surgeon I needed a fill but his office messed up because I was scheduled today but when I Coles to let them know I'd b 10mins late the doctor said "sorry too bad come back another day. (there was more to it)

Anyway, I'm zoo disappointed because I can eat same amount as I did before getting banded. I spent all my savings for this "tool" and I'm praying this fill makes it work. All of what your feeling is close if nt ESA Ty what I feel. Hang in there & so will I.

OMG I can't imagine

Follow up on my 1st. Fill. I went into today and met with Dr and nutrionest. They said it is completly normal not to have any restriction at this point and to be hungry. I was ready for a fill for sure. I had the fill and I will be on liquids for 3 days so that is stage 3 and then right to stage 4 mushies for 3 days. Then I start stage 5 which is for life. I can feel the restriction already with the liquid so I am happy. They do not want to see me back for 4 months but gave me a 2 month apt just in case I need a fill. They said anytime I am feeling hungry or not feeling right to call they would get me right in. I hope you all have success with your fills and good luck on this journey... Krisy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
