Hello Everyone - I am new to this site. I was banded October 3rd. I was doing wonderful till last Friday. Everything I ate was going right threw me. I have not stopped having diahrrea. I called my Dr.s office and they told me that I had to see my PCP. I got an apt that day and she did blood work and asked for a sample of my stool. I did that. So far the blood work came back great except I have to take Iron. The blood came back fine except one is still pending. So far there is no bacteria. What is going on, has anyone every experienced this? I am so worried now that I keep looking stuff up on the web and it is making me crazy. I love my lap band and I have lost 40 pounds since my surgery... Thanks everyone.. Happy Saturday!!! Krisy

Are you getting enough Fiber?

I was taking Metamucil for high cholesterol but stopped after my surgery because it is too hard for me to drink with a tight band. (have to drink it fast)

Noticed a big difference. I started taking it again every evening before bed. 3 smaller doses spread apart,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
