Oh my goodness. I am really worried about you. I am certainly not an expert and do not want to cause alarm, but by the 4th week after surgery I couldn't even tell I had had one. Please please please be persitent with your doc and find out what is wrong. I am glad you are going back.

I send my best wishes. Let us know what happens.

It sounds as though you are doing waaaay too much. But if you have any specific pains, particularly around where you think the band is, be persistant with following-up with your doc.

I have a sedentary job and went back to work the 4th day after surgery, and went home each day feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. Once I got home I did NOTHING but lay on the couch. On the 5th day back to work I left after an hour - I just couldn't take it anymore.

The next week was better, but If I wasn't working I was doing NOTHING but laying on the couch for a good 2-3 weeks.

Make all those kids take care of you!!! Take it easy!!

Michelle,

Be persistent. I just read a thread a week ago on this. They should not be ooozing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
