Helli everyone!! Im about to have surgery and bcbs of il is covering it. What happens if say, 6mos from now, I have a different insurance company? Will they cover the fills? Or if I need an upper gi or anything done lap band related? Do new insurance companies treat it as.preexisting condition? If I change insurance companies, can I expect anything lapband related to be OOP?

I went through my whole process and was scheduled for surgery in January 2010. A few weeks before my surgery date my company announced they were changing insurance carriers after the new year. To make a long story short I had to rush my surgery and have it a week after I found out about the change. My surgeon is not participating with my new insurance (this is something you'd definitely have to find out), I knew that but chose to have surgery anyway, so not to have to go through the process all over again with a new doctor and possibly more requirements/longer diet, etc... Right now I pay all my visits and fills out of pocket. $50 a visit, $150 a fill. As far as my new insurance paying for future treatment, I don't know yet. I'm going to need and endoscopy soon, but I don't know if I'll be covered.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
