Update!!! NOT THE BAND!!!

Recommended Posts

Let me say first of all all of your thoughts and all of the hugs have helped. Yesterday was very tough. I got a call at 4:30 from the Plumonary Specialist I have a appointment today at 3:15. I was so glad they called I don't know how I could sit and wait another day. I am not sure what the appointment is for. If it is for the biopsy or just to meet with Dr. I am going to give them a call later this morning. The girl I spoke to yesterday wasn't sure.

Thanks again everyone, (((((((Kathy))))))))

HI, I am so sorry to hear of all of this happening to you. I too had a similar experience in 2004. I was 26 and they found a large mass with blood flow through it on my cervix. I had to wait 2 weeks to find out if it was cancer or not. They sent me down to the Vanderbilt Cancer center to meet with a specialist. Walking through the doors was the scariest thing I had ever done. I cried just thinking about it. I had an 8 month old daughter and all I could think about was her. BUT.....I had good news delivered to me from the specialist...she was 99% sure that it was not cancer after looking at my biopsy. So they treated me for endometriosis and It started to shrink. The reason I told you this is because it can come back to be good news, just because they suspect it doesn't mean 100% that you have cancer. I will pray for you and your husband and may God give you the strength you need. Let us all know how things go!

Kathy, the wait after that test must be horrible. Please keep us updated. I can't believe you have been suffering with these illnesses like this.

Hey girlie, I just got back from a lung CAT scan myself. Has anyone mentioned possible Sarcoidosis? I'm not a doctor, but I had such bad bouts of Sarcoid I thought I was dying. They've been doing annual x-rays to compare the nodules on my lungs (that's what showed up on films, suspicious spots) to see if it gets worse. But the last 2 surgeries I woke up practically strangling the person standing over me because I couldn't breathe. It was awful. After band removal, they did another chest x-ray. But this time they freaked me out by mentioning "possible cancer" and wanting me to do a lung CT scan ASAP. I had the scan this morning. Same fears you have but I can't dwell on them, so I rode my Harley to work and wore jeans with lots of pink even though it's not Friday. Live life now is what I say. Neither one of us have cancer. Nope.

Please keep your hopes high and stress low. Go get a pedicure, spoil yourself. Hell, do like me and get a new Harley while the gettin's good!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
