What about your bras?

Hello all...

I was banded on Sept. 2nd and I have a question for you ladies.... My bras are now starting to not fit. My boobs are getting smaller :( Well, when you guys were losing weight and your bras weren't fitting anymore what did ya'll do? Did you keep buying bras smaller and smaller. That will cost a pretty penny to do that. I need advice on what to do. Should I just do sport bras? HELP!

Thank You.

well, congrats on getting smaller!

I was banded same day as you---bras & everything else still fits OK.

Maybe adjust the straps--I know mine are now let out ALL the way.

Gosh, I enjoyed treating myself to smaller - and ever sexier - bras as I went down sizes. They're not that expensive, compared to all the new clothes you have to buy, anyway.

A well fitting bra makes everything you wear look better, just buy two and handwash, to keep the cost down.

Me too! My favorite 1st NSV was to go to Victoria's Secret and pick out 2 pretty bras. Like Jachut said, just hand wash and they will be okay! Karen

You dont have to buy expensive bras in the beginning you can get bras at any family dollar or dollar general for six bucks if you dont want to buy expensive bras

Fashion Bug has great bras. Most of them are $20 and they usually have buy 2 get 1 free. They always have a few on clearance too!

at first, I cinched my bras up at the straps. I actually pinned the straps in the front and stitched them up, just to get a little bit longer life out of them. ( I'm cheap, what can I say!) then when they no longer fit around the band and they were driving me crazy! i went and got fitted at a bally's or something. They fitted me wrong though, and I ended up getting smaller than they thought. I also had some old bras in smaller sizes that are in really good shape, so I started wearing them now too. they make my smaller boobies look perky! lol. Good luck ...this is only part of an amazing journey! Fun times lay ahead!

As someone else said my fav NSV was going into VS and getting sized and buying a bra or 2 there. I went from like a 44f to a 36dd. So I did lose some, but the girls are still a healthy size. (I was a DD long before I started gaining weight)

i wish there was some way to cut mine in half, but i bought some on sale 2 sizes smaller and the ones i had i sewed smaller. i have lost from 56ddd to 52dd, the doulbe dd's still well, because they have druped badly.

I was banded July 15th. I think the only place i'm losing is my breast.

I just bought two new bras this week! I went for a long long time though because I HATE how expensive bras are. I had a few bras that were smaller that I moved into as I started losing, then I adjusted those as much as I could and even then my hubby was telling me kindly that I needed more "support", lol. Anyway, this week I finally went and bought 2 new ones, a little bit snug but not uncomfortably so. I only have about 30 more pounds to go til I'll be happy, then I'll probably by a few more.

I just bought 2 new bra's this week too. I've lost 132 pounds and I went from a 52 DD to a 44DD. I also got fitted and measured. I have to buy Expensive bras for the girls if I want to keep them up were they belong so hopefully I can wear them for a while, but it not, oh well! I'd gladly buy more because these were too big.

I've had to buy a few sets of new bras already. And I just got new sports bras and I got a D cup!!! I'm so happy I hated having DD's!! May sound silly to some. I still need to get smaller everyday bras, but I can still get away with the ones I have for a little longer. But maybe I will check out Fashion Bug on my next day off.

When my boobs really started dropping in size, I had a problem finding new bras because here there are only a and b cups.

Until I fit into a b cup I would get padding thus to fill my old bras without needing to buy new bras right away.

I didnt buy my first new bra till I was down 50 lbs and was a big b small c down from the d kind of dd I was when I started.

Congrats to you. I have not ad to buy a new bra, but I did get to take out my extender and tighten it up. I figure they will last me another month or so. I wear a DDD and they are harder to find. I am getting smaller around , but my mass has not changed yet. We will see. good luck to you.

I went from a 40DDD to a 32A in this process, so I've seen many bras along the way. I thought I had settled at a 34B so I spent a ton I shouldn't have there. Otherwise I made sure to buy one or two good bras (good-not Victoria's Secret) and took good care of them, adjusted the straps when I could, and sucked it up and bought new ones when I had to. It's a good cause. A really good bra makes a world of difference. I sound like my grandmother...
